First NIA Auction is a Big Winner April 9, 2010 marked the first ever Spring Auction hosted by the NIA Community Services Network. The Brooklyn-based not-for-profit drew more than 300 Brooklynites and distinguished guests to the balloon-filled Regina Center for a night of food, fun, and a chance at the hundreds of prizes. From parents and seniors, to elected officials and community board members, the community came out in full force to support NIA’s vital cost-free programs.
NIA staff took the initiative of developing the auction, which came as a result of funding and budgetary concerns. All proceeds from the event will be put towards supporting the free after school and summer programs, family counseling, and community services that NIA provides, and NIA leadership – Michael Bové, President; Mary Anne Cino, CEO; Rosa Casella, Executive Director; and Annette Scaduto, Director of Program Operations – couldn’t be prouder.
Lucky winners walked off with cash prizes, a flat screen television, cameras, appliances, and gift certificates, all for supporting NIA’s mission of Building strong children, strong families, and strong communities.
