Free Basketball Clinic

With so many hot days making playing sports outside difficult during the summer, area teens have the opportunity to brush up on their basketball skills courtesy of the NIA. The Free Basketball Clinic will run from June 26 to July 13, Monday to Friday from 5:30PM to 7:00PM at Regina Center, 1258 65 Street, Brooklyn..

"We always have an enthusiastic group of teenagers who enjoy themselves while playing basketball in the Regina Center's air conditioned gym," said Rosa Casella, NIA's Executive Director. "They also get the opportunity to learn some new things because we are able to have an instructor, Willie Ladson, with professional basketball experience."

In addition to the Free Basketball Clinic this summer, Willie has been teaching the fundamentals of the game at the NIA's many after school programs throughout the community.

A veteran of international basketball, the 6' 10" former Duquesne University player has played all over the world including Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela, Spain, Russia, China, Holland. When he come back to the U.S. in the summer, Willie coaches and teaches at numerous basketball camps including The New York Knicks Summer Basketball Camp, Basketball City Fundamentals Camps, Stephon Marbury's Camp, as well as at the NIA.
