Job Summary:

The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting the Program Director in a school-based after-school program. Responsibilities include assisting with the management of program operations, administrative duties, data entry, and positive relationship building. This position may also require assisting with the strategic planning, stakeholder development, and human resources aspects of the program. Additional tasks will be assigned as-needed to accomplish program goals. The Assistant Director must be fully capable of maintaining program in the Director’s absence. Computer literacy and strong organizational skills are required. Flexibility, a collaborative spirit and can-do attitude are essential for this position.

 

Pay Rate: Starting at $18-22 per hour (commensurate with experience).

 

Full and Part-time positions available. Shift hours vary depending upon location.

Job Summary:

The Activity Specialist is responsible for planning and leading structured after-school activities. The Activity Specialist is assisted by a Group Leader at all times and must be capable of collaborating effectively. Responsibilities include lesson planning, leading activities, and the management and maintenance of the classroom. Activity Specialists must have an area of expertise and experience teaching and facilitating group activities. Activities may include, but are not limited to: Visual Arts, Drama, Music, Chorus, Dance, Physical Education, Science, Technology, Community Service, Character Education, and Creative Writing.

 

Pay Rate: Starting at $15-18 per hour (commensurate with experience).

 

Shift hours vary depending upon location. All positions require availability Monday through Friday, with hours varying between 2:00pm and 6:00pm (Typically 3 hours per day), with training and special events outside of those hours.

Job requirements for all positions:

  • A minimum requirement of a High School Diploma or GED, unless otherwise noted.
  • Experience in (or proven interest in) youth development, education, arts instruction, coaching, or a related field.
  • The ability to develop and facilitate, actively assist with, and participate in all activities required for position.
  • In addition to fluency with the English language, the ability to speak and/or write Cantonese, Mandarin, Russian, Spanish, Arabic, or Urdu is a definite plus.
  • All after school program staff must be fingerprinted and proven free of any criminal convictions before being hired.  A current physical and TB test are also required, as well as a $25 fee for a mandatory background check.
